Two projects can require the same amount of erosion protection but use very different Gabion Mats.
That is why Gabion Mats with stone fill should be specified around the actual project materials and environment.
Start With the Stone
The filling stone determines part of the mesh selection.
The available rock should be checked against the opening before production.
A typical project may use granite or other durable local stone in a suitable size range. If the rock is too small for the selected opening, it may not remain properly contained. Oversized stone, meanwhile, can make filling unnecessarily difficult.
Then Select the Wire
The choice depends on the project's structural and environmental requirements.
For example:
A relatively straightforward surface protection project may use a lighter configuration, while a more demanding installation may require heavier wire and reinforced edges.
Coating Matters in Wet Environments
Erosion-control projects are frequently installed beside rivers, drainage channels and slopes exposed to rain.
For these conditions, can be supplied with:
·Galvanized coating for general corrosion resistance
·Galfan coating for enhanced protection in demanding environments
·PVC coating where additional protection is required
Dimensions Can Be Customized
For larger riverbanks, slopes or drainage channels, custom dimensions can be discussed to reduce unnecessary joints and make the coverage easier to calculate.
Before placing an order, prepare five pieces of information:
Protected area
Stone size and type
Required mesh opening
Wire and coating requirements
Quantity and delivery location
For riverbank, channel or slope erosion work, send us your drawing, dimensions and stone information.
We can check the mesh, wire and coating combination and recommend a suitable stone-filled Gabion Mat specification.
